High Desert Virtual Academy prepares students for future careers by integrating career exploration into core content instruction — all delivered through a flexible, virtual learning environment.
Amplify ELA, Illustrative Mathematics, OpenSciEd, and NM Social Studies standards — all rigorous, standards-aligned programs.
Learn from anywhere in the Albuquerque Metro area. Live morning sessions keep students engaged, with afternoons for projects and independent work.
Students explore STEM, trades, and arts careers through hands-on projects, virtual simulations, and industry connections.
25 students max in grades 4–5, and no more than 26 per class in grades 6–8, ensuring personalized attention for every learner.
Live instruction from 8:00–10:15 AM, followed by independent work time, projects, and teacher office hours through 3:00 PM.
Full special education services, English learner support, gifted programming, and a Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS).
Every student explores all three career pathways through quarterly rotations, sparking curiosity and building real-world skills.
Grades 4–8, organized into Elementary (4–5) and Middle (6–8) grade bands.
Year 1 cap: 180 students (25 each for 4th & 5th grade, 130 for 6th–8th grade). Growing to 500 by Year 5.
Fully virtual, serving families in the Albuquerque Metro area. In-person skills clinics and state testing at a local facility.
8:00 AM – 3:00 PM. Live instruction in the morning, independent work and project time in the afternoon.
